bobcatmoranWell, it's official. My dad is getting remarried next February. 'Bout time they settled on a wedding date. All of us kids (especially my brother, who's going to be Best Man) have been driven up the wall by the wedding plans or lack thereof. "We'll be getting married before the year is out! No, it'll be next year, in January. No, wait, next summer. No, wait..."
It's going to be weird, though, having my 4th grade math teacher as a stepmom. I mean, yeah, they've been together for a while now—well over a year, maybe even two or three. I lose track. But they got engaged right before I left for South Dakota, and while I was out there, it was sort of "out of sight, out of mind." And now it's like, "ohshit, you guys really are getting married." Meanwhile, there's all sorts of plans being tossed around about how to merge together two households, and whether we'll be moving to her house, or her and her kids (or, rather, kid, singular, since her eldest is pretty well settled out East) will be moving here, or if they'll get a new house. I guess that's extra impetus to get a job and move out for me. Not that I'm not looking for a job anyway. God knows that's what my life centers around these days. -_-
