Jun. 2nd, 2013 10:43 amThose of you who are Trekkies have probably seen the video compilation of Commander Riker's rather unique method of sitting down (if you haven't, go watch. It's truly bizarre and I can't believe I never noticed it before). So the question is, was this a conscious character choice, reflecting Riker's rebellious attitude, or is it something else, like Jonathan Frakes just sits down that way normally?
One of my RL friends was just at a convention and actually asked about it. The answer? "Jonathan Frakes answered our question! Sort of! When asked if that's how he sits in real life or if it's a character choice, he led a demonstration of how nice and comfortable his style of chair sitting is."
Well. Okay then.
