Nov. 16th, 2005 02:57 pmFilling out zer Application For Federal Employment, and I'm pondering whether or not to say they can contact one of my former employers. Not that I was a goof-off or anything at that job. Far from it. I was the one who didn't try to sell drugs to co-workers in the store, the one who didn't try to wait on customers while high, the one who didn't turn up half an hour late every day. The problem is, they've gone through at least two managers in the year or so since I last worked there (the turnover is pretty absurd--I was there for three summers and worked under four different managers, which had the odd result of me actually knowing how the place worked better than my supervisor in many cases). So, technically, the answer is, "no, you may not contact my supervisor(s) because they no longer work for the company in the interest of retaining their sanity." It's made even more complicated by the fact that, while my paychecks were sent to the store I'm putting the address for, I actually spent my last summer there working at nearly every store in the company except for that one (mostly for the $50 bonus you got for each time you filled in for someone else at another location), so my most recent manager barely even knew who I was.
*shrug* Aw, what the hey. *checks "yes."* It looks less like I'm trying to hide something that way.
