Come back, snow!
Mar. 2nd, 2005 05:42 pmThe snow's melting. :( This has been the worst winter I think I've ever seen in terms of snow. I read in the newspaper the other day that Minnesota's winters are getting warmer, so it's not just me when I'm remembering how, when I was a little kid, we'd get snow sometime in November or early December and it would stay around for a good couple of months. None of this melting in a couple days crap.
And all told, we've barely gotten over a foot and a half of snow this winter. I know that'd be an awful lot for someplace like Georgia, but for Minnesota? It's downright depressing. 'Cuz you see, when we don't get snow, it's just dead brown things with a thin veneer of leftover salt from the roads. It's not winter if you don't have snow. It's like Thanksgiving without a turkey. It just doesn't work.
Of course, it's March, which means that the sun's high enough in the sky now that any snow we get will melt in a couple days anyway. *sigh* Maybe I should move to the East Coast. They seem to get lots of snow there. . . .
