Glad seasonal tidings to you and a bushel load of pre-emptive thank yous, with a side of apologies since this letter is so late in coming.
Optional Details Are Optional, as the saying goes, so if you’ve already been visited by the inspiration fairy and have a fic idea you’re ready to write, please, by all means, go for it!
However, if you want some extra guidance, I have an overly-long letter.
In general:
If you choose to go the romance route, I am ok with couples or poly relationships of all shapes and sizes — M/F, M/M, F/F, nonbinary, trans, interspecies, etc. Friends-to-lovers is always awesome. I am not so down with big power differences (e.g. teacher/student), hatesex, or noncon. However! If you don’t want to go the romance route, rest assured that I always and forever love me some genfic.
Other likes include found family, science fiction settings (space AUs for those canons that aren’t already in space are ok), canon divergence AUs (e.g. “What if Harry was sorted into Slytherin”), fish out of water tropes, and characters being snarky or bantering back and forth.
For a further idea of what sort of stuff I like (and some, IMO, really good reads), you can check out my Ao3 bookmarks, or my “read this fic it is good” and “read this story it is good” tags on Tumblr — the latter is for original fiction.

17776: What Football Will Look Like in the Future - Jon Bois
Juice, Nine, Ten
Sentient space probe fic, please. I’d love a fic with any/all of Juice, Nine, or Ten first achieving consciousness, or just space probe chit-chat (of which I am sure there are a few millennia’s worth). Ok with including new stuff from 20020, but that’s definitely not necessary. I am also Not A Football Fan, so please keep that in mind if you decide to include any gameplay. I know juuuust enough to follow the canon sports goings-on, but not much more than that.
I admit it. I have a thing for space probes. It’s been an ongoing thing since I was a very wee Bobcat and fell in love with Voyager 2 and cried when I found out that Pioneer 11 was leaving the solar system and would be all alone. So you can imagine the pitch and volume of the shriek I emitted when I found out who Nine was. If you wanna include football in this, that’s awesome. If you don’t, that’s awesome, too. I just wanna see a thing with the sentient space ships hanging out, whether it be Nine getting more comfortable with its new situation, Juice being kind of an ass, heck, even bringing in space probes not listed like Hubble or New Horizons. Um. Maybe not sexytimes, as these characters are all a pretty substantial distance from each other, but if you can make it work, more power to you. And if you have no idea what I’m talking about, go here and read/watch the thing on an actual computer instead of mobile if you have a couple free hours. Also, if you get stuck on one of the other fandoms (it happens! I’ve written for fandoms I didn’t sign up for twice), this might be a good one to pick up as it’s relatively easy to access.
Arm Joe

Being that this is a fighter game based on Les Mis, I'm not expecting anything super-serious here. I mean, if the muse has struck you in that direction, go for it by all means, but if you're going the route of pure, unadultrated crack, that is totally a good route to be on. If you want to try and explain how this world works (Where did Robojean come from? Why are they all fighting? Are these the canon characters thrust into video fighter game land or a crazy AU? What the heck is even up with Ponpon?), or try and explore the Cosette-Eponine-Marius love triangle thing in this 'verse, or even retell part of the story in this bizarro universe, I am up for all those or anything else your mind can come up with. Basically, go nuts, just please keep it T-rated and under. FYI, as far as canons go, if you want to incorporate things from the more "official" versions of Les Mis, I'm familiar with The Brick as well as the musical and very nearly all the filmed versions. So if you want to include references or crossovers that involve those, please go ahead!
I think I pretty well covered it. FYI, I know this is a fandom that I've actually written for, but if your take on the game-verse is different from mine in any way, shape, or form, that's more than okay. The more takes on this crazy universe and the more fic for this, the better! (there are only THREE. FICS. Including the one I wrote.)

I’d love a little slice-of-life with the Nascita crew at any point in the series, whether it be early on, when it was just the Isurugis and the weirdo physicist who lived in their basement to towards the end, with the whole gang added in. Or! If you’d like to write post-series fic with Sento and Banjou getting to know the new world counterparts of their old friends, that’d be awesome, too. Basically, I love all these characters and I am a giant sucker for the Found Family trope. Gen or shipping at no more of a level than the series itself, please.
This series devoured my brain with happy munching sounds when I first watched it, and it’s all because of the characters and their relationships — not romantically, as I’m not much of a shipper for this series, but the way that all these people who are messed up in their own ways found companionship and a new, optimistic view on life. How they were able to become better people together than they were individually. Basically, y’know that cookout they had on the rooftop? That sort of feeling.
FYI, I have only a passing familiarity with the post-series movies, so if you want to ignore those, go right ahead.
Kamen Rider Zero-One
Any characters
I’d love a story that focuses on Humagears, whether it be pre-canon, during canon era, afterwards, or even during the ReiGen movie AU. I’m not opposed to having humans in the fic, I’m just more interested in the narratives surrounding Humagears — the familial relationships they build, how they interact with human society for better or for worse, and, for some of them, trying to figure out what freedom would look like. Like, a fic about Naki and Yaiba working for AIMS would be awesome. A fic about Fuwa Isamu: Your Friendly Local Kamen Rider getting into a conflict with post-series MBJR working against human malice would also be awesome. A fic where only Fuwa and Yaiba are the focus characters wouldn’t Ruin Yuletide for me, but isn’t my first choice.
I’d prefer gen for this one, but if you absolutely, positively have to make it shippy, relationships between any character and a Humagear who hasn’t achieved Singularity is a big DNW.
Please feel free to ignore the V-Cines or go AU from them at some point.
I should add that human/Humagear platonic relationships are absolutely a thing I’d love to see, as are any instances of Humagears interacting with each other. Aside from the Metsuboujinrai gang, there wasn’t much in the show, and even then there’s a LOT of room to play with. We don’t even know how Horobi, Naki, and Ikazuchi met! Heck, even something just from the POV of a Humagear character would be spiffy.

I’d just like a story (or even a series of vignettes!) set in one/multiple of these proposed universes. My gosh, the potential. What would workplace safety briefings look like in the OSHA one? What’s it like to work with oblate spheroid cows? Why are those the ones that make up most of the surviving population? Does the moon one have anything to do with werewolves? Why is the death rate in volleyball so much higher than in basketball? I’d prefer this fic to lean more into the psychological horror end of things rather than the slasher horror end — I don’t have the best tolerance for gore, and please, no bad things happening to people’s eyeballs, which is a GIANT NOPE from me.
I think I pretty well covered it with my prompt. Let your imagination run wild!
If you get stuck on a fic for another fandom (again, it happens! No judging!) this is probably the quickest to pick up, since it consists of a single webcomic that was part of Randall Munroe’s “What If” series, where he answered hypothetical questions like, “Would a toaster still work in a freezer?” or “What would it be like to navigate a rowboat through a lake of mercury?” only this time, it’s hypothetical questions coming from an alternate universe with some seriously worrying differences from our own.

I’d love to see something post-series with this little found family. I’m a sucker for fish-out-of-water tropes, so if you want to play in that space with Goo, I’d be more than pleased. If you want to go a more action-y route, the series clearly left a giant, gaping hole re: the conflict on Goo’s home planet and how that’s trickled down to Earth. But if you just want to do something slice-of-life, I’d love that just as much, if not more.
I’d prefer gen for this one, please.
FTR, I have no idea what is up with the “official” Ao3 Romanization of this series’ title, since ガンディーン in no way reads as “Gundeen.” I’ve seen it translated as “High-Speed Parahero Gandine” or “Super-Fast Parahero Gandeen” or variations thereof. The most popular fansubs out there (because, alas, there is no official version with subs) go by High-Speed Parahero Gandine.
I love how Daishi is a determined athlete with his own struggles over how to do his best, and the fact that his sport is wheelchair racing is no more remarkable to the show than if his sport was swimming or hammer throw. And I love his family (both blood-related and otherwise), unconventional as it is, and how supportive they are of his goals, both athletic and for being a superhero. I’d like to think that post-series, Goo gets incorporated into this bubble of warmth as well.
This is a 3-episode tokusatsu series where Our Hero is a paraplegic parathlete who gets powers from a friendly alien to fight monsters — while still being in a wheelchair. It 900% owes its existence to the Paralympics being held in Tokyo this year — there’s cameos from some of the Japanese paralympians, who also served as consultants— but if that’s what it takes to get a series like this made, I’m all for it. You can find the series on various fansub sites.
Also, just to reiterate, please DO NOT “magically” heal Daishi’s legs, via alien tech or some other phlebotinum.
Anyway, I hope that covers it…probably more than covers it, now that I think about it ^^;
