Says the justice of the peace denying said license: "I'm not a racist. I just don't believe in mixing the races that way." He also says he's doing it for the sake of any hypothetical children the couple may have because, you know, if you're half one race and half another, you'll never fit in anywhere and will lead a miserable existence.
Yeah, because I've totally noticed that me and my sibs are totally forsaken by both our Asian-American relatives on one side and our European-American relatives on the other side. < /sarcasm > I suppose he hasn't taken a look at our current president lately, either. You know, the one with parents of two different races. Or Tiger Woods. Or any of a number of multiracial folks out there who have (surprise!) grown up into fully functional human beings.
