I swear, if the phone rings one more time with a wrong number, I am going to unplug it. Periodically throughout the year, I've been getting calls for a "Michael." Since some of the more creatively wrong pronounciations of my name sound an awful lot like "Michael," this has led to a bit of confusion occasionally, as I try to correct them on the pronounciation of my name, and the person on the other end gets very puzzled, since "Michael" is not one of those names that has twenty different pronounciations and I totally do not sound like a guy. Anyway, I've gotten three calls so far today for Michael, and wherever he is, I would like to wish upon him a herd of angry parsnips to devour his kneecaps while he sleeps. I'm pretty sure he lived here last year and was dumb enough to not tell anyone that his phone number had changed. Oh, well. I'm only going to be here for another week, anyway. I feel kind of bad for the people who keep calling. I think some of them only have this one wrong phone number to try and contact this guy.

I'm totally done now with classes. The last paper has been turned in, books have been sold back (those that I could sell back, anyway — I had a record four books that the bookstore wouldn't pay anything at all for, not even like $1), and my room is in desparate need of cleaning. *scurries off to dig through strata of paper, books, and CDs in order to unearth horizontal surfaces.*

ETA: Completely off-topic, but there's proof that nitpickers in large groups can make a difference. The original teaser poster for Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire had the tagline, "Difficult times lie ahead Harry." Much fretting over the complete lack of puncutation in that statement ensued. WB apparently heard and added in the comma in the appropriate place.
