Jan. 8th, 2011 09:33 amAfter hearing a lot of good buzz about it, I got the Tron: Legacy soundtrack off of iTunes. I'm kind of in love with it. The "Artist" column says "Daft Punk," but Hans Zimmer (Pirates of the Carribean, among many, many other movies) helped out with the orchestrations, and put together it's this amazing blend of electronica and classical styles. Now, given that I'm a sucker for fusing music styles — my brother just sort of gave me this look when I played for him a techno dance piece with jazz scat vocals and said, "Isn't this awesome?!" — this should've been right up my alley anyway. But it's got this really intense minimalistic sound to it that's really cool, and I'm sure that it'd make great driving music. Erm, "driving" in the sense of "I shall listen to this in my car, going down the Oyster Bay Expressway," not "this has a really driving beat," although the latter is largely true as well.
