bobcatmoranGot a review for "Cookies of Chaos" today, asking me to please continue with the story. I really wish I had the motivation to finish that up. I actually still have my outline (and by "outline," I mean "series of gags in chronological order which I need to tie together somehow") floating around in my desk somewhere. There did exist, at one point, a version of the story which was nearly finished, but stupid me, I managed to accidentally overwrite it with an earlier version last December and I haven't touched it since. I don't want to declare it a lost cause, but I really do need to be in the right sort of mood to do outright humor.
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was very good. A little girl in the theater, after a bowl of petunias and a sperm whale made their sudden mid-air appearance, decided out loud that, "This is a silly movie." Yes, it was. ^_^
Most of the humor made it through intact, and yes, the plot was rather haphazard, with not much of a conclusion, but quite frankly, plot has never been a strong point of the series. The addition of stuff that I didn't recognize as belonging to any previous incarnation of the series fit in very nicely with the old, and some of the visuals, like Slartibartfast's factory or the results of using the Infinite Improbability Drive, were brilliant. And the Guide itself was very nicely done. Oh, and any movie which includes a dolphin musical number wins bonus points in my book.
I'll probably be going to be early tonight, since someone *coughstupidneighborscough* seems to have decided last night that 3:30 in the morning is an excellent time to go through their playlist with their friends and sing along with every single song as loudly and drunkenly as possible. Okay, so there really is no good time to do that, but 3:30 AM is a particuarly bad time, especially when you live in a dorm where the walls have all the soundproofing capabilities of tissue paper.
