Rockman Perfect Memories: X series

the 15th anniversary edition. The text is Capcom's, not
mine. Any corrections on the translations are quite welcome (and,
no, I don't care how long it's been since this was posted. It's
backdated like crazy in order to avoid spamming people's f-lists, and
I'm not picky about comments like that, even if it is bad LJ
ettiquete). Original Japanese is given before the translations
for my own reference and for the reference of anyone else who can read
it.
There are a few differences in terminology between the Japanese and English versions.
Irregular=Maverick
Repliroid=Reploid
Operator=Navigator [*refrains from making any EXE jokes*]
Famicom=NES ("Famicom" is short for "Family Computer," the Japanese version of the 8-bit Nintendo Entertainment System. Super Famicom=Super NES)
Anything in brackets [like this] is me talking, not the book.

エックス
幾度となく、世界の平和を救ってきた英雄。ライト博士に造られた。
X
Time and again, this hero has come to save the world's peace. He was made by Dr. Light.
シグナス
イレギュラーハンター総監。超高性能CPUを持つ頭脳派タイプだ。
Signas
He is leader of the Irregular Hunters. He has a super-high ability CPU and is a brainy type.
シグマ
反乱を起こした元・イレギュラーハンター。エックスたちの宿敵だ。
Sigma
He began the revolt against the Irregular Hunters. He is the long-time enemy of X and the others [X-tachi].
エイリア
オペレーターとしてエックスたちをフォローするレプリロイドだ。
Alia [how they get that out of "Eiria" is beyond me, since the pronounciations are pretty different]
As the operator for X and others, this Repliroid follows them.
ダグラス
エックスやゼロのメンテネンスを担当するレプリロイド。
Douglas
This Repliroid is in charge of maintenence for X and Zero [and implied, but unmentioned, others].
ゼロ
エックス、唯一の戦友。Dr．ワイリーが製作したといわれているが？
Zero
X is his only comrade [very unsure about the grammar in this sentence. I'm not sure if it's the other way around — "He is X's only comrade" — or maybe it's even just that he and X are best friends. Help here would be awesome]. Was he the work of Dr. Wily?
ケイン博士
封印されていたエックスを分析し、レプリロイドを造り出した博士。
Dr. Cain
He did an analysis of the sealed X, and this doctor created Repliroids.
Rockman X

A new "Rockman" chapter! X is the hero of the new series!
One month after "Rockman 6" went on sale for Famicom, the bell rang for [indicating the release of] "Rockman X" on Super Famicom! Talk had turned to the more adult-like character designs. In order to rescue X, Zero blows himself up. This, along with the destruction scene shocks to the core!
ストーリー
西暦21XX年、レプリロイドたちは、人間と平等に扱われていた。そんなある日、１人のレプリロイドが反乱を起こす！その男は特A級イレギュラーハンタ・シグマ。最強のレプリロイドと呼ばれた人物だ。人間の排除を唱えるシグマを相手に戦いの幕が開く！
Story
21XX AD: Repliroids lived in equality with humans. But one day, a Repliroid began a rebellion! He was Special A-Rank Irregular Hunter Sigma. He was the strongest Repliroid, with an inviting personality. Sigma calls for elimination of all humans. Former companions fight one another as the curtain opens!
パワーアップパーツでエックスを強化！
パーツ・システムは、この作品で初登場！装備するパーツの選び方で、ステージの難易度は大きく変化する。なんと、今では当たり前になった「ダッシュ」も、フットパーツ装備時にしかできなかったのだ！！
Parts to Power Up X's Strength!
The parts system makes its first appearance in this game! Depending on how you chose, the parts you have equipped can make a big difference in how hard it is to get through the stages. What you should do is make sure you can "dash," by equipping the foot armor!
「ロックマン」とのつながりは？
『ロックマンX』は初代「ロックマン」から約１００年後という設定。ときとして、ライト博士やDr．ワイリーが、歴史上の人物として語られることがあるぞ！敵のはかにも、見たことがあるヤツも！？
What's the connection with "Rockman"?
"Rockman X" is set about 100 years after the first-generation "Rockman." By that time, Dr. Light and Dr. Wily [implied others] are spoken of as historical figures! Can the animosiy between these two foes still be seen? [unsure about that last sentence]
