Jan. 6th, 2009 10:19 pmUgh, it's going to be a rain day tomorrow, which means being stuck in the office, updating contact info ALL DAY LONG. I'm thinking I should invest in an iPod so I have music to listen to while I do this — I do have a Discman and an old-school casette-playing Walkman, but my selection of casettes is limited. As for the Discman, it's good for only about two rain days before it needs a new set of batteries, and that's if I don't skip tracks or turn up the volume too loud.
The problem is, I just spent the equivilant of a new iPod on a month's supply of my allergy meds. Holy shit, those things are even more expensive than I thought. Theoretically, I should be able to draw on my HSA for them, but since I am destined to never be able to switch health insurance without drama, the paperwork for the HSA seems to have vanished into a black hole. I've reached the point where I am so sick of not being able to breathe through my nose that I'm willing to shell out upwards of $100, but dang, that hurt. Stupid drug companies, stopping the manufacture of my much cheaper old medication so I'm stuck on two name-brand things to do the work of one generic. Stupid immune system, thinking that everything is cause for vast amounts of mucus.
Crap, and I'm going to need to find a new allergist out here, too. And a general practitioner. And a dentist. Ugh, I hate finding new doctors in unfamiliar places. It's like a freaking roulette wheel, only the stakes are your health.
