bobcatmoranWell, I made it to South Dakota in one piece. I'm out here where the deer and the antelope play. And the elk. And the bison. And about twelve zillion prairie dogs. The park's nice, the people are nice, the job seems nice so far. If only there hadn't been some miscommunication about whether my housing would include kitchen utensils. Yep, nothing like arriving armed only with miscellaneous things I didn't think would be provided. So I spent my first couple of nights with things like an awesome set of knives, rubber spatulas, and a candy thermometer (I use it for making sure the water's the right temperature when I bake bread), but lacking things like plates and forks. >_<
I'm OK now, though. I scored a few sweet bargains on stuff, so I can now cook and eat off of plates and such. I made my first from-scratch meal tonight, and I'm thrilled to be cooking for myself again, even if it was pretty simple (rice, chicken, and carrots).
Anyway, I need to go before it gets dark and I trip and kill myself on my way back. That wouldn't be good.
