Aug. 6th, 2005 02:03 pmWell, that was an interesting week. Highlights (and lowlights) included:
- Finally getting my copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. It was very, very good, but I don't think I'd recommend that series for little kids any more.
- Sliding down the shoulder of the highway into the sagebrush in an NPS truck. We were pulled out by a couple of good samaritans. No thanks to the county sheriff, who drove by, slowed down, said, "Oops," then continued on his way. (this would be the same man who pulled me over for going 30 in a 25 mph zone, within spitting distance of a 35 mph zone--what a dick.)
- A month-early birthday party, since most of the seasonals are going to be gone by the time it's my real birthday. Since we didn't have any candles, the birthday pie had 23 matches stuck into it instead.
- A tour of a seed-processing facility, which was a lot more interesting than it sounds--lots of neat restoration work going on there.
- Encounters with two rattlesnakes.
- Finding a spider the size of a half-dollar in the bathroom.
- Driving a total of over 320 miles in order to get my allergy prescription transferred and refilled.
