In the category of freaking awesome news, the ivory woodpecker, thought to be extinct since the 1930s, has been found alive and well in Arkansas.

Senior presentation is done. It went pretty well, if I do say so myself, but unfortunately, I was after the break and the vast majority of the audience thought that break=time to go home, so there were only about 15 people in the lecture hall when I spoke. o_O At least I got some cute pictures of spotted salamanders out of it. Who says amphibians can't be adorable? ^_^
