Ha ha! The siblings are at school, my dad is at work, and the computer is all mine! Mwahahaha!

*cough* erm...yes. My own computer is actually unpacked, but all the stuff I need to actually use it, like the keyboard, mouse, and power cord, are still boxed up. So I'm using the family computer right now. It's actually faster than my own computer, but the internet connection here is, alas, a 56K one, rarely able to operate at full speed, prone to disconnecting without warning and reluctant to load large pages completely. It's probably good for me that the internet is only semi-functional here. I'm sure it will do me good to get away from the computer. That doesn't mean that I don't miss the college ethernet connection, though. ^^;

I've been the housecleaner for my family since junior year of high school, when my mom got sick, and I've been able to keep up fairly well even while I was in college by coming home every couple of weeks for a day or two. However, this year, with all the stuff going on in the last semester, the last time I was home long enough to get any cleaning done was sometime in March. My sister went through and did a major cleaning last week — I know, because she called me up, wondering what I used to mop the linoleum (1/2 cup ammonia per gallon of warm water — works very well, and you don't have to rinse). So everything is still in pretty good condition, cleaning-wise, with a rather large exception — she apparently did not include the bathrooms in her cleaning, or if she did, she did a really crappy job.

I'm not a total sanitation freak. I can live with some dust, and everything doesn't have to be scrubbed and sparkly clean. I don't like to use anti-bacterial stuff because it promotes the development of resistant bacteria, and I don't think it really helps all that much. But the grout in the shower was developing a disturbing pink tone, and I'm surprised intelligent life hadn't started forming in the downstairs toilet. So yesterday was dedicated to application of much elbow grease and cleaning solutions to the bathrooms. I wonder how the heck my dad and sibs were living with that. Seriously disgusting.

Ah. I think I might know where you're coming from. It took a couple years for the name-related jokes to stop for me after Disney's Pocahontas came out.
