Jun. 18th, 2011 01:45 pmWhew, been awhile since I last posted. The "no internets" message was because I went back to Minnesota (and Wisconsin) for a cousin's wedding. Like most of my cousins that have gotten married so far, the general reaction was, "Well, finally," when they announced their engagement. The ceremony was very small, immediate family only, but they had a big reception that we went to. Unfortunately, the weather that day wasn't the greatest and it in fact started hailing at one point. Still, a good time, and since it was the first time in over ten years that they'd managed to get all eleven grandkids (and one great-grandkid) in one place, there was a lot of family picture taking. I must say, it's a lot more difficult when everyone's full-grown to crowd on and around a couch. There was an attempt at getting a photo with all four generations, but it was thwarted by lack of space and short attention spans.
This morning, I went to what is probably the best farmer's market within easy driving distance. It's at an outlet mall of all places, partially crammed into an empty storefront and overflowing into the walkways outside. So I now have fresh local lettuce, radishes, and strawberries. And I also did some shopping at the mall itself and now have an organic cotton oven mitt to replace my potholder that was eaten by the washing machine (or stolen…regardless, it somehow didn't make it back from the laundromat). Speaking of the laundromat, I should go and do that. My laundry situation isn't completely dire yet, but I do have a DVD that I need to return to the library, and since the library's practically next door…yeah.
