Okay, feeling more human now. I'm pretty dang sure that a goodly portion of my "hangover" was not due to copious amounts of alcohol (which I did have — open bars are a dangerous thing) but rather due to food poisoning, possibly from the slightly dubious oyster stew I'd had for lunch prior to the wedding. The symptoms matched up better, plus I don't think one can remain that hungover for an entire day.

Oh, yeah, the wedding. That's where I was this past weekend, celebrating my eldest cousin finally getting married to her boyfriend of over a decade. The ceremony was non-denominational in a wonderfully quirky way, befitting the bride and groom (the programs came with instructions to fold them into paper airplanes, which were thrown in lieu of rice), I met a lot of awesome people at the reception/caught up with my relatives who I haven't seen in a year, and the whole thing was just a total blast. I really, really wish I hadn't been sick for the last day — there was a breakfast including voodoo doughnuts at my aunt and uncle's house that I was sadly unable to enjoy, and I opted to stay curled up at the hotel in a ball of "my tummy hates me" rather than hang out with them that evening. And even though I was staying within eyesight of it, I never did get to Powell's Books (a bookstore that takes up an entire city block). But it was still a great trip.

Oh! And, should you ever get the opportunity, let me recommend the Ace Hotel in Portland, Oregon as an awesome place to stay if you're not the sort to be driven crazy by a less-than-ideal layout. It's got a very cool indie vibe, and there's a record player with vinyl in each room, free for the using.

Dang, I wish that trip had been longer.
