Snow day!

Got into the office today, figuring that the parking lot was unusually empty because people were late/not coming in at all due to the snowstorm that dumped several inches on us last night and is still spitting out the occasional flurry. And, hey, there were a couple other people there, so it wasn't like work was canceled, right? Wrong. I got a call on my work cell phone soon after I turned it on, from my boss, telling me that Big Boss had decreed a snow day. It wasn't quite so bad for me and one of my coworkers who was there — we both live within walking distance — but the other coworker, who drove all the way in from Brooklyn, was rightly pissed off that no one had called him.

I got home and went, "What am I going to do?" The roads are absolute crap, and odds are halfway decent that anywhere I'd want to go would be closed due to weather. I cleaned my entire apartment and did a bunch of baking and cooking yesterday, so that was kind of out of the question. So I took a little nap, and have spent my day huddled up under a blanket, reading the last book in Robin Hobb's "Soldier Son" trilogy — excellent series, by the way. Not a bad way to spend the day.
