Is it hot in here or is it just me?

Well, some genius at the regional HQ decided that, in order to save money on air conditioning this summer, the thermostat at the store where I work should be set a bit higher. Okay, good idea. Saving energy is good — my family does the same thing, turning up the thermostat when we switch from heating to A/C. However, it was warm enough in the store that customers in t-shirts were making comments like, "It's hot in here, isn't it? How can you stay here all day like this?"

Seriously, I know they have signs up all over that say, "summer," but does it have to feel like that indoors as well? The temperature outside was near 80°, and I couldn't feel any difference when I walked from the store to outside and vice versa. They're going to lose customers at this rate because people don't like to be slow-cooked as they shop.
