bobcatmoran: The twins from Ouran, talking about robots and flowers (robot flowers)
I've been working lately in the Town of Islip, of which the Incorporated Hamlet of Islip is but a small portion — the local government around here is like a set of those nesting Russian dolls. I'm voting for a county legislator tomorrow, among other things.

Anyway. Islip has this nifty little acronym for their recycling program, W.R.A.P., which they print on all the residents' recycling bins. Guess what it stands for? The first bit, We Recycle, is a bit of a no brainer. And it ends in Proudly, because, hey, who doesn't like a good, positive adverb? Then there's the "A." It does not stand for "and." No, the full motto is: "We Recycle…America…and Proudly!" Yes, the ellipses are part of it. It's as though they felt it wasn't patriotic enough and had the urge to stick "America" in there somewhere, anywhere. I swear, it's like something out of the Colbert Report.
