I also love how well the action is shot, the humor is GREAT, and the sense of a winder world beyond what we saw in immense! It didn't feel like an contrived world, despite much much backstory we get via voice over in the beginning.
And the holes are lovely. I feel there is a lot of room for people to explore Pentecost and Mako's father - daughter relationship, or the development of the Jeagers, or hell, even why they didn't just park some nukes at the rift and set them off as the Kaiju came through. It's really just lovely.
